I ALWAYS finish games I start (unless they are just incredibly boring or bad or buggy or something) BUT to me a difficulty level is NOT a “part” of the game. I mean by that that if I’ve done everything on normal I won’t play it again on hard and I’ll still consider that I’ve finished it…
Anyway games I play rarely have difficulty settings… RPGs, Strategy etc…
Also, finished the game 100% isn’t a must have for me. I’ll do everything I find fun but I won’t accept doing boring task just to get some sort of bragging item that have no use…
Interesting, and I suspect many people will probably agree with your general concepts. I personally dont play a ton of RPGs, though I do enjoy them on occasion. Since action/adventure/platform/puzzler/etc are my main interests (generalizing), many of these tend to have a variety of difficulty settings, and as I get older, I’m more inclined to set the difficulty at maximum when first starting out. I like the idea that I’m getting better at games over time by working harder at the ones I’ve already played.
